THE SELECTION

Esoterico (ex Empatia)

Fiano di Avellino DOCG BIO

“Everything we say about art, we can say about wine, because wine is an extraordinary work of art that concerns life and the earth, like life and like art”, said the critic of art Vittorio Sgarbi in a Lectio Magistralis on wine throughout the centuries of art history. Until today. On the other hand, the values associated with wine are so high that they make it a good for humanity, and with art they represent a single idea of civilization and culture.

It is with this approach that the collaboration between Donnachiara, an important Irpinia wine company led by Ilaria Petitto, face and soul of the company, and Simonetta Ferrante (Milan, 1930), one of the first visual communication designers in Italy, was born. Simonetta Ferrante’s path is distinguished by an extraordinary continuity that allowed her to cross the second half of the twentieth century up to the entire first decade of the 2000s, passing from graphic design to calligraphy and painting. Where the various disciplinary fields must be seen as components of a single poetics.

Art and Wine continue to cultivate the liaison made up of semantic points of contact, of sharing a lexicon with a double level of reading: two worlds that aim for expressive excellence and that dialogue with an audience to tell “what is behind” a wine or an artistic inspiration. Donnachiara firmly believes in this dialogue, bringing the great history of Italian graphic design to the world with these bottles with unmistakable labels.
